{2d07 (res) singularis, particularis}

Meaning Particular things, both extended things and modi cogitandi (things in the attribute of thought). Particular is defined to imply finite, which excludes not only substance and attributes, but all adequate ideas as well.
Subsets (kinds) res extensa, modus cogitandi
Occurrence [geomap] Preoccurs from {1p28}
{1p28 nisi alia causa finita}
... Every individual thing, or everything which is finite and has a conditioned existence, cannot exist or be conditioned to act, unless it be conditioned for existence and action by a cause other than itself, which also is finite, and has a conditioned existence; and likewise this cause cannot in its turn exist, or be conditioned to act, unless it be conditioned for existence and action by another cause, which also is finite, and has a conditioned existence, and so on to infinity. ...
{2d07 (res) singularis, particularis}
... By particular things, I mean things which are finite and have a conditioned existence; but if several individual things concur in one action, so as to be all simultaneously the effect of one cause, I consider them all, so far, as one particular thing. ...
{2a1.5 sentimus corpora cogitandi modos}                         ...A res singularis may be a modus of the extensio-atrribute, or of the cogitatio-attribute...
....We feel and perceive no particular things, save bodies and modes of thought..... .....
