Ton Bronkhorst on his recently home made (!) 100 person 40 km/hrs self-laminated wood catamaran for public transport in Tanzania. After a successfull start his Tanzanian competitors  were not amused. Since May 2008 the government refuses any transport permit. Wonder if "ferries" is on the TZ list of development aid applications? (source page)
