 Harbour Life #4
Some steps forward and some backward

I did not plan the rubble filling behind the sheets as part of my harbour sheeting project, but before leaving for Germany, Roland organized a regular rubble dumping and the piles grew. So I hired 4 men and bought a fourth wheel barrow for the compound

My rubble platoon under the leadership of Geoffrey, who swears to be a muganda but betrays himself by good brains, unusual working speed and speaking Kiswahili only. I predict we shall hear more about him, unlike of three lazy muganda arseholes he heads on this picture

My main running expense of Charles is buying fish, but he frequently saves my money

One day I returned home and witnessed a lorry tipping full loads of rubble. As for where, they fortunately took the example of my wheelbarrow rubble platoon, but the force of their loads coming down on the metal wire stays supposed to keep the sheeting upright obviously broke some. Orders by Roland's Ugandan business partner Eunice. These men did not even know who I was. I decided to consider myself discharged and wait for Roland to return from Germany

National Ugandan Lake Rescue Institute's SPIRIT OF TULLON I lately is diversifying to (left) testing new paddle designs and (right) harbour fishery

Heavy winds blow up de algae barrier and water hyacinth passes under to enter the harbour

A few days later fishermen understood our security is sleeping all night so they could safely steel the algae barrier. I thought: let us suffer our security lapse for a few weeks so all will feel the use of both vigilance and algae barriers. But already the next day our respected neighbours had found a sheet and came to our rescue! (and their own...)
