Malaria, Worms and Typhoid
Epistemon's hell-observations verified

Photo Annemarie, no doubt inspired by Vermeer: a doctor with brains

The evening after the test all my symptoms returned, so now it was clear: malaria. In the clinic it turned out to be malaria, worms and a light typhoid. And, the malaria having succeeded to hide behind hang over, pills forgotten and all day flying with 10 landings, now had acquired a 48 hour advance. My test showed 5 rings. Time for a short visit to Hell.

Actually I did enter Hell long enough to take a good look around and check the observations of Epistemon in Rabelais' Gargantua and Pantagruel, who had the same honour by losing his head on the battlefield during an unfortunate moment of negligence of military attention, and got it sewed back on by Panurge  (links: Dutch; English: Johnny the Caulker should prepare for Emperorship). It was a feast of resounding verification: Epistemon told the truth!.

Photo: author, often criticized for not smiling on photographs, decided to make up for on the memorable occasion of his return from hell

The clinic was neat, a doctor with brains, so when Kos started to cough again two days later and Philemon thought he had worms, I sent them both. Kos: worms. Philemon: worms and malaria
