Clouds
Play, written by Aristophanes, Athens, 423 BC.
In the Phrontisterion ("thinkshop") of Socrates, you can pay for learning to
talk everything straight which is bent.
Phrontisterion teaches the villain Strepsiades ("twister") to argue why debts
are no debts at all, and he does not need to pay them back. His son learns there, after
the event, why it is good to give your father a firm beating every now and then. Socrates
fills his pockets.
At the end a cheering crowd witnesses the collapse of the Phrontisterion.
